I was a tad precocious when it came to the DJ - I had owned one for years, so when my extravagant student lifestyle meant that I went from 30&quot; to 32&quot; waist I had to get a new pair of trousers (my weedy upper body refused to grow though, so the jacket just went on and on...)<br /><br />I had obviously been massively bloated when I bought the new trousers, because when I tried them on again just before a very important night out, they more or less fell down of their own accord (this might have been quite exciting under different circumstances...). Without so much as breaking a sweat, I broke out my emergency sewing kit and stitched a couple of folds into the waist band - this minor modification saw me through the night, and a few more years.<br /><br />Then I met my now wife and my weight started to increase, slowly but steadily. At the same time, my use of the DJ decreased exponentially - this is probably telling me something, but I know I&#39;ll get an iron around the head if I explore this too much...<br /><br />Eventually the stitches came out, freeing up a valuable couple of inches of girth. This lasted a couple of years, but last time I tried these trousers (about 5 years ago) they were rather too tight for comfort. Also, the jacket had obviously shrunk during dry cleaning. As a result, I now favour a large turquoise shell suit on the rare occasions I venture out into polite society.<br /><br />So I suggest you arm Digi with a needle, thread and the relevant parts of this tale.
