Disconcerting event of the day

Driving behind a hearse with a fresh casket in full view listening to a sad song on the radio. One of those moments where you need to shake off the icky feeling with the human equivalent of a wet dog shake.

Disconcerting event beaten by not one but two random acts of human kindness.

Sipping coffee with two antsy pantsy children. Woman leans over and gives me a wrapped gigantic biscuit. She says she doesn't want it to go to waste. I notice she has a set of scales and camera and five other cakes surrounding her. She says she is doing research on cakes. I delve more and it's very interesting. She leaves later and tells us to have a good day. Did we suddenly teleport to America?

Same coffee spot, flushed faced mummy with horrific double buggy is blocked from exiting except for going through the entrance queue. Kind men move out of the way and I tell them the love hate relationship I have with double buggies. He says with a smile, "No problem. Take care of yourself".

Same slightly disheveled mummy (me again) is trying to pay for my car park ticket when the machine decides to boycott £2 coins. I try about 4 times before the kind man next to me opens his palm which is full of coins and says, "what do you need?"

I thought nearing the xmas season made people turn into mad angry cows. I think the world has just taken a deep breath and realised it's all gonna be ok, for today anyway. Sod the economy. Make love not war. Hair Peace and all that.

I think that's just restored my faith in the British public!

I need to know what that lady with the scales, camera, and cakes was doing exactly.

i think she was a cake spy!
I hate those days when everything is difficult too. I just want to have a tantrum/kick ass and get someone else to fix it for me NOW.

I wholeheartedly agree with both comments. Also, I want coffee and a biscuit. I just finished the box of Encore cakes you sent ages ago with coffee this afternoon. I s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d them out.

Also, I have to go to the Orthodontist today. How weird is that?!
